Project Background
The Interactive Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate is a product of the Abu Dhabi Global Environmental Data Initiative (AGEDI) created to serve the diverse stakeholders of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD). The Interactive Atlas will maximize the utilization of current on-line technologies to create an outstanding, enduring product.
The Interactive Atlas will be based on the content developed and approved for the Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate, a printed publication currently in its final stages of production.
The Interactive Atlas will harness on-line technologies that will immersive the user and enable them to browse the content in more depth - not like a single flat source of information. With a fixed budget and period, the interactive atlas will utilize ideas and technologies that can be expanded in the future.
The success with which an immersive digital environment can immerse the user is dependent on many factors including: Believable 2D/3D computer graphics, surround sound, interactive user-input and other factors such as simplicity, functionality and potential for enjoyment.
